Recreational Soccer U10+

HSSC 2023-2024 RECREATIONAL SOCCER U10+

Recreational soccer provides an opportunity for participants, without emphasis on travel or a high-level of competition, to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a life-long love of the game.  Teams are formed according to age and gender. There are no tryouts for our Fall recreational season, so all players, ages 8-19, are welcome.   (Ages 3 - 7 are part of the MICRO and MINNOWS Recreational Division). Recreational U10 and older soccer has two seasons during a calender year.  Our full Fall TCSL season from September through December, and our Winter DPL All-Star season from January through March.  In addition, we have Technical Tuesday's training sessions along with Free Play Fridays in the spring from March into May.

Our Mission:      To provide an affordable recreational program that focuses on fun, participation and player development. Players will develop a love for the game while learning the fundamentals of soccer and developing the skills necessary to reach their fullest potential.

CURRENT PROGRAM

WINTER All-Star Program/DPL:

Our All-Stars from Fall recreational soccer will compete in the TCSL's Developmental Pathway League (DPL) in the Winter.

What is the HSSC Winter All-Star DPL Program??:

An  8-9 Week Recreational Soccer Program for Players ages 7– 17 years old (birth years 2016 - 2004).   The HSSC All-Star Program is designed for recreational soccer players that show potiential to prepare them to move into the next tier of soccer devlopment pathways. The all- star program is appropriate for dedicated recreational players who would like to get extra coaching attention, training, and game play in the Winter but its primary purpose is to serve to provide personal player development and team understanding. Players playing in DPL will be invited to tryouts for our higher level programs in May this is a great stepping stone for our young players that intend to move into our Soccer P.R.E.P. Program in the Fall.
Participants in the All-Star Program play in the Treasure Coast Soccer League’s Developmental Pathway League (DPL).  DPL is designed to continue the development of a young Player’s technical skills, soccer knowledge, and confidence on the field.  DPL games will be played in jamboree format for the U8 7v7 (also called rising U9s) and U10 divisions, or full length stand alone games for all older divisions.  Games and jamborees may be held at any of the participating clubs home fields, ranging from Palm Beach Gardens to Port Saint Lucie.    Generally, All-Star Program players have already been identified by HSSC coaches as high-potential up-and-coming stars.

Age Groups:

A player's age group is determined once per year, at the beginning of the fall season and is based upon the player's birth year at the end of the playing season.  Due to the large numbers of players, we will have DPL Invitational sessions for prospecitve players for U8 boys (2017-2016 birth years) and U12 boys (2013-2014 birth yers) on Wednesday, December 13th, and for U10 boys (2015-2014 birth years) on Thursday, December 14th.  These 3 divisions will be invite only, and all other age groups are open to all players until a roster is full.    U8, U10, and U12 boys who played with HSSC in the Fall season who cannot attend the inviational sessions are still eliglible for All-Stars if selected.  Please let us know if you wish to join us.

Practice Schedules:

Generally, teams practice 2 nights per week.  The days and times are determined by the Head Coach.  Once the season's registration is closed and final rosters are completed, the coach will contact the parents via email to advise on the team's practice schedule.

Game Schedules:

U10 and Older: Games are generally played on either Saturday or Sunday with 50% or more of the games being held at Doc Myers Park in Hobe Sound.  Other locations may include Justin Wilson Park in Palm City, Charlie Leighton Park in Palm City,  Halpatiokee Park in Stuart, Big Mound Park in Indiantown, Jupiter Community Park in Jupiter, Pineapple Park in Jensen Beach and McChesney Park and Swan Park in Port Saint Lucie.
